Diese Woche startete das neue Schuljahr und wer sich ein bisschen in Leichtathletik-Kreisen auskennt, weiß, dass am letzten Ferientag das 2. Abendsportfest in Oldenburg stattfindet. Dieses Jahr nahmen 5 Athleten der TSG Westerstede teil und konnten auch einige beachtliche Ergebnisse einfahren.
Gleich als erstes starteten Andreas Willms und Malte Prietz über 100m. Malte begann und legte mit 11,40s gleich eine gute Zeit vor; es sollte die insgesamt zweitschnellste des Abends sein. Andreas hatte ebenfalls einen sehr guten Tag erwischt und lief mit 12,73s auf den dritten Platz der Männer. Leider wehte der Wind einen Hauch zu stark (2,6 bzw. 2,8 m/s), um die Zeiten offiziell als Bestleistungen aufführen zu können.
Anschließend nahm Andreas als einziger TSGer am 400m Lauf teil, mit 1:01,56s lief er auch hier eine gute Zeit, Platz 5 in der Männerklasse kam am Ende dabei heraus. Und nur kurz später begann für ihn der Wettkampf im Hochsprung, hier schaffte er es mit 1,55m auf den 3. Platz in der Männerklasse.
Gegen 19:30 begannen dann die 800m Läufe, jetzt begann der interessante teil für die übrigen Westersteder Teilnehmer: Josina, Nils und Timon Papenfuß waren extra für diese Disziplin angereist, Malte startete ebenfalls und war auch im ersten Zeitlauf gleich gefragt. Gegen seinen Oldenburger 400m-Konkurrenten Julian Hartung konnte er sich schließlich zwar nicht durchsetzen, aber 2:05,84min sind aus dem Stand eine starke Leistung und zu Recht der zweite Platz.
Im zweiten Vorlauf gingen Josina und Nils an den Start. Josina hat in dieser Saison schon neue Bestleistungen aufgestellt, Nils versuchte sich das erste Mal an den 800m. Bereits nach den ersten 100m übernahm Nils die Führung und gab sie bis zum Zieleinlauf nicht wieder her. 2:16,28min bedeuteten den 1. Platz in der U18. Josina bestätigte mit 2:24,96min ihre außerordentliche Form und ließ die gesamte weibliche Konkurrenz hinter sich.
Im letzten Vorlauf startete Timon und gab seine Premiere auf einem Leichtathletik-Wettkampf. Am Ende zeigte er Biss und holte sich mit einem starken Endspurt den dritten Platz in 2:36,60min.
